1. Who we are
Fuel Credit (“we”, “us”) provides fuel-credit services for drivers and partner petrol stations in Nigeria. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
Questions: nickoklaus5@gmail.com.
2. Information we collect
- Account details — name, email, phone number, and authentication data.
- KYC / identity — National Identification Number (NIN), date of birth, address, selfie, and vehicle details needed to verify identity and enable credit.
- Transaction data — fuel purchases, litres, amounts, repayments, receipts, and related payment references (including via payment providers such as Paystack).
- Location (optional) — approximate or precise device location when you choose to find nearby partner stations. You can search by area instead.
- Camera / photos — camera access to scan merchant QR codes at the pump and to capture KYC selfie / vehicle photos. Photos are used only for those features.
- Device & usage — basic technical logs (e.g. app version, errors) needed to secure and improve the service.
- Station interest leads — if you indicate interest as a petrol station, we store contact name, email, phone, station name, address, and optional CAC details so we can follow up.
3. How we use information
- Create and manage your account
- Verify identity (KYC) and assess eligibility for fuel credit
- Process purchases, wallets, repayments, and receipts
- Show nearby partner stations when you allow location
- Scan QR codes to authorise fuel at partner pumps
- Provide support, security, fraud prevention, and service updates
- Meet legal, regulatory, and audit obligations
4. Camera and location permissions
Camera is used only to scan fuel-station QR codes and to capture KYC photos you choose to take. We do not use the camera for continuous recording or advertising.
Location is used only to show partner stations near you when you tap “Use my location”. You can decline and type a city or area instead. We do not sell location data.
5. Sharing
We may share data with service providers who help us operate the platform (for example identity verification, cloud hosting, email delivery, and payment processing), partner stations as needed to complete a fuel purchase, and authorities when required by law. We do not sell your personal information.
6. Retention and security
We keep information for as long as needed to provide the service, meet legal requirements, and resolve disputes. Sensitive identifiers (such as NIN) are stored with appropriate safeguards. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we work to protect your data using industry-standard measures.
7. Your choices
- Update account details in the app where available
- Deny or revoke camera/location permissions in device settings
- Contact us to request access, correction, or deletion where applicable under Nigerian data-protection law
8. Children
Fuel Credit is intended for adults who can enter binding agreements (typically 18+). We do not knowingly collect data from children.
9. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the service after an update means you accept the revised policy.
